博德於1999年在香港大學取得文學學士學位（雙主修英國文學及比較文學）之後，赴英國雪菲爾德大學（University of Sheffield）深造一年新聞學，2000年回香港之後加入南華早報任職記者兩年多，隨後又在一個亞洲天主教新聞機構工作，採訪中國大陸、台灣、香港及澳門等地教會新聞。自2004年9月起，一直在人權機構工作，特別喜歡與人權有關的寫作。於2006年取得香港中文大學法律與公共事務社會科學碩士。電郵：shamrock@graduate.hku.hk
After receiving his Bachelor of Arts degree (Double Major in Literature in English and Comparative Literature) from the University of Hong Kong in 1999, Patrick went to study journalism for one year at the University of Sheffield in the United Kingdom. After returning to Hong Kong in 2000, he worked as a reporter at the South China Morning Post for about two and a half years. Then, he worked for an Asian Catholic Church news agency, covering the Church news in mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau. He has been working in the human rights field since September 2004 and he is particularly interested in writings related to human rights.
